Letters: Grateful for ‘beacon of light’ for kids
I am writing on behalf of literally thousands of boys and girls across Tennessee to say thank you.
On Aug. 10, AT&T presented a donation of $105,000 to Boys and Girls Clubs in Tennessee to support the Project Learn program in 21 clubs across the state. That is more than generous.I especially want to single out the $5,000 that was given to both the Boys and Girls Club of Halls/Powell and the Eagleton Boys and Girls Club in Maryville.
Project Learn reinforces and enhances the skills and knowledge young people learn at school through “high-yield” learning activities, including reading, writing, homework help and games that develop and strengthen cognitive skills.
We are so appreciative of the compassion that AT&T has shown to our organization. We are even more thrilled that 19 other Boys and Girls Clubs all across the state of Tennessee were chosen to receive $5,000 each.Thank you, AT&T, for being a beacon of light for Boys and Girls Clubs all across our great state. Words cannot express how much your donation means to us and our club members. The money you give will be used to teach children skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.
