　　1、端午節(jié)話端午(Dialogue)

　　A: Have you heard about the Dragon Boat Races to be held this afternoon?

　　你知道今天下午有龍舟比賽嗎?

　　B: Yes, it is part of a holiday, right?

　　知道啊，是為了慶祝什么節(jié)日對(duì)吧?

　　A: Yup, Duan Wu Festival, but it's also just simply called the Dragon Boat Festival. It's among the three major traditional holidays celebrated by Chinese.

　　是的，是端午節(jié)，不過它也被叫做龍舟節(jié)。它是中國(guó)三大傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日之一。

　　B: Besides the Dragon Boat Races, what's special about this day?

　　除了龍舟賽，這一天還有什么特別的活動(dòng)嗎?

　　A: Traditionally, it was thought to be a time for warding off evil spirits, but now it's just thought of a time to remind family members to take care of their health.

　　在傳統(tǒng)上，這一天一直被視為是驅(qū)兇避邪的日子，不過現(xiàn)在它的意義已經(jīng)只是提醒家人注意身體健康了。

　　B: Sounds great! I think I'll join in on the boat competitions.

　　聽起來不賴!我想我會(huì)去參加龍舟比賽。

　　A: After you've worked up an appetite, you can eat Zongzi. Everyone eats them during the Dragon Boat Festival.

　　等你劃船累到肚子餓的時(shí)候，就可以吃粽子。端午節(jié)的時(shí)候大家都會(huì)吃粽子。

　　B: Eating is a really important part of Chinese culture, huh?

　　吃真是中國(guó)文化中很重要的一部分，對(duì)吧?

　　A: Yes, perhaps one of the most important aspect. Don't worry though; there are no surprises in Zongzi. They are just rice with either meat or sweet red bean paste wrapped inside. They are quite yummy!

　　沒錯(cuò)，或許是最重要的之一。不過別擔(dān)心，粽子里面沒什么特別的東西，只是米飯包著肉或豆沙而已。好吃極了!

　　2、端午節(jié)的起源

　　端午節(jié) The Dragon Boat Festival

　　這個(gè)夏天節(jié)日的起源主要是一位名叫屈原的學(xué)術(shù)政府官員，他也是一位偉大的詩(shī)人。

　　The origin of this summer festival centers around a scholarly government official named Qu Yuan，and he is also a great poet.

　　他愛國(guó)愛民受人尊敬，卻由于被嫉妒而受到陷害，逐漸被皇帝冷落。

　　He was a patriotic and respected man, but because of the misdeeds of jealous rivals he eventually fell into disfavor in the emperor's court.

　　屈原由于無法得到皇帝重用，眼看著自己的國(guó)家淪陷，于是投如汨羅江自盡。

　　Unable to regain the respect of the emperor, watching his country falling into enemies, Qu Yuan threw himself into the Mi Low river and killed himself.

　　汨羅江畔的百姓劃船在江中尋找他們尊敬愛戴的屈原，并且將米丟入汨羅江中，使屈原避免蛟龍的傷害。

　　The local people living adjacent to the Mi Lo River rushed into their boats to search for him while throwing rice into the waters to appease the river dragons.

　　盡管他們當(dāng)時(shí)并沒有找到屈原，但是他們的行為直到今天仍然被人們傳頌著。

　　Although they were unable to find Qu Yuan, their efforts are still celebrated today.

　　3、端午節(jié)的慶祝方式

　　在中國(guó)，不同的地方有不同的關(guān)于端午節(jié)傳說和慶祝方式，以下是大家最熟悉的幾種。
