大學英語閱讀：西班牙列車脫軌

　　According to the British "Daily Mail" reported on July 24th, a passenger train in northwestern Spain at the evening of July 24thlocal time occurred a derailed accident. It caused at least 56 people died, and 70 people were injured. At present, the emergency rescue personnel are rescuing the wounded under the carriages.

　　據英國《每日郵報》7月24日報道，當地時間24日晚，西班牙西北部發(fā)生一列客車脫軌事故，事故造成至少56人死亡、70人受傷。目前，緊急救援人員正在搶救被壓在車廂下的受傷者。

　　According to the report, the accident occurred in the vicinity of Santiago de Compostela the capital of Galicia autonomous region. It was not far from the main city train station. There were 218 passengers in the train when the accident occurred. The Witnesses said that train derailment was around the corner. There was one witness said that he heard a "bang" at the time train derailment.

　　報道稱，事故發(fā)生在加利西亞自治區(qū)首府圣地亞哥－德孔波斯特拉附近，距離該市的主要火車站不遠。事故發(fā)生時，這列列車上大約載有218名乘客。有目擊者稱，火車是在拐彎處脫軌的。還有一名目擊者稱，列車脫軌時，他聽到“砰”的一聲響。

　　According to the local media report, this is the most serious Spanish railway system accident during 40 years.

　　當地媒體報道稱，這是西班牙鐵路系統(tǒng)40年來發(fā)生的最嚴重的一起事故。
