I remember 9 months ago, I was in a hurry to prepare for the college exam. I was afraid I couldnt get to my favorite school at the time. But at last I realized my dream. Now I study Chinese in my favorite university, Hanoi University.
After going to college, my life didnt change too much. Because I live and study in Hanoi, so I dont have to leave the family or rent a house. My home is not far from school, just 15 minutes by bike. But, to be honest, I prefer to live away from home, because I can live on my own, and I can feel the feeling of homesickness.
After the study, everything here is very new to me. I study in a new environment, know a lot of new friends, learn a lot of new knowledge, and so on. At first I felt a little nervous. But now Im getting used to it. The classmates of our class are all very united, often help each other to learn, there is a collective activity, we all join. When I came to school, I felt that I was not very nervous, but more and more knowledge was needed to learn. People know that Chinese characters are very complicated and difficult to remember, so every day I work hard and I will ask the teacher where I dont understand. I think college learning is not the same as high school, because high school, we students often passive learning, but in the University, we mainly study. There is no teacher to remind you of your study. You will lag behind if you dont study.
When I went to college, I was impressed by the library. The library of my school is big and beautiful. There are all kinds of books and quiet. So every day after class, I go there to study and read. There is a big stadium in my school. Every afternoon, I will go there with my friends. For example, playing basketball, dispersing and so on, it feels very easy.
During college, I had only half a days class time, so I spent the rest of the time working to earn money to increase my experience. During the University, we can also participate in community activities except for study. It is very helpful to help others, because we are all hot blooded young people.
Learning not only studies knowledge at the University, but I can learn experience. I hope to study at college in four years can make me grow up.

Inrecent years, being a village official has become the first choice of manycollege graduates. To this phenomenon, different people have different opinionson it.
Somepeople hold the positive attitude towards it. First, they consider its aneffective way to ease employment pressure in major cities as well as satisfythe need for talent in rural areas. Besides, the government is trying toencourage college students to seek jobs in under-developed regions. Second, college students have a great deal of knowledge which can make contribution tomore people. Last but not least, college students also can broaden their eye inthe countryside as well as improve their adaptability to differentcircumstances, both of which are believed to be beneficial to their future development.
However, others are against it. In their opinion, if college students work as a villageofficial, they cant apply their professional knowledge that they learn in school.Worse still, they cant meet their parents aim that lives a comfortable lifein the major city.
Asfar as Im concerned, I consider working as a village official is worthpromoting. Its feasible that some graduates may employ the job as a spring-boardin order to receive the favorable treatment. With the participation of so manycollege students, we have reasons to believe that it will not take unduly longto realize the blueprint of constructing new village jobs for graduates.

When it comes to November 11, what’s on your mind? Well, as to the old generations, it’s only an ordinary day; however, the young generations will consider it as the Singles’ Day as well as the on-line shopping carnival. In fact, on November 11th, 20xx, Tmall and Taobao(the biggest Chinese online shopping platform) has sold out more than 35 billion Yuan goods, this data has astonished the media at home and abroad.Apparently, people have more interests on cyber shopping than spend the night with their single friends. Some home media even suggest that November 11thshould be the Chinese on-line shopping carnival.
In 20xx, Jack Ma, the CEO of Tmall andTaobao, had coined the term “Double Eleven”, aimed to encourage the single people to do something to celebrate their own festival. Instead of datinglovers, people go on-line shopping to relive the loneliness. According to the survey, China had 564 million Internet users at the end of last year and 180 million single people. And the single people are the main force of the China’s spending power. The debut was a great success. Then “11.11” has an unusual meaning, which stands for on-line shopping carnival.
Comparing with the traditional shopping, the cyber shopping has more distinguish features, which quite fit the young generations’ taste. People do not need to go outside, just click their mouse, the goods will be home. The best part is you can do it anywhere, anytime. All you need is acredit card. What we can predict in the future is that on-line shopping is not going to fade away, instead, it will boost like the mushrooms after springrains.
Today I was at home lonely, due to my husband need to work overtime and no time to accompany me. I make my own way to leave SZ city to come to him, but unfortunately, my love lost his job and try to find a job in SZ city. Bad news for us, but we have no choice. We need to make money, I know it is hard for him to find a satisfactory job due to the overall economy situation is bad in 2012. But the New Year for 2013 is coming soon. We really hope that everything will be ok with us. I have to make meals by myself and just sit in front of computer. Since I have not showed my concerned to my friends for a long time, I made some phone calls to my friends and say hello to them. Happily, most of them are living a good life. I visited some page or QQ Zone in some old friend’s space. Some of them got married and best wishes for this guy. I am a couch potato and crazy about the USA soap opera whose name is broken sisters. This series is very funny, so I will watch them as long as I am available. I really want to make some relaxation by listening to songs and watching funny series / movies. I guess I over use my eyes in the company, due to frequent overtime at the normal working days. My neck and my eyes feel terrible. I feel uneasy that I always dream a lot when I was asleep. The next morning when I woke up, oh, my god, I do not feel like doing anything at all, just feel headache. I hated to dream a lot in the sleeping time. Sometimes I feel ashamed for my poor oral English. So many girls in our department can speak fluent English and absolutely do not have difficulty in communicating with foreign guys. I envy of them and I just too lazy to make some useful effort for spoken English. All the mangers in our company are proficiency in written and spoken English and all of them are from HK. Maybe I should learn something from them. I need to work 5 days per week, after two days rest. Every time when I back to office on Monday, just feel very sleepy. Somehow I have the same feeling every Monday. I just call it black Monday. Because I have to back to normal and resume to work. I have not written something in English to record my daily life for couple of weeks. I think I need to make it up once I am available. No matter how busy I am, my strong interested in learning English will never stop. I think I‘d better go to bed early tonight, in order to avoid laziness for work tomorrow.

Thanks to burgeoning technology, the past decades have witnessed the thriving of clone technology. And its application into human has made clone reach an unprecedented peak. This marvel gives rise to much concern among scientific community. However, whether human cloning should be advocated has aroused heat argument. As far as I am concerned, the merits of human cloning outweigh its demerits. On one hand,it’s safe to say that even the best clone technology has the possibility of failure, and this truth is also publicly known by scientific researchers. Therefore, human cloning is the indulgence of this possibility.Once it fails,it will do harm to cloned men. From animal cloning experiments, the survival rate of the cloned species is very low.Unfortunately, these cloned species that have survived often have more or less some physical problems.Nowadays, many researchers have begun to clone a human being, which leads to the birth of disabled infants because of the failure of human cloning experiments. These crude phenomena leave us with a chill. They are the evidence of the crime resulting from human cloning and the trample on human life.In order to succeed, those crazy scientists cruelly kill the lives of many cloned men, which is no doubt crimes rather than researches.Do any rational persons will support a research at the cost of killing people? What is worse, result of this research will bring people with terrible disasters. This research is a kind of technological progress that will make man liable to extinction. On the other hand, even if the cloning human experiments will succeed,it will also make chaos on civil legal relationship. It’s clear that cloned men have no guardians. As is known to all, nature persons all have guardians.Who are the parents of the cloned men?In fact, cloned men can’t find their parents no matter through which experiment. They are only research results of researchers. It would be irresponsible to clone a human being, for they will become orphans thoroughly after they are born.On that circumstance, will those crazy scientists undertake the responsibility of fostering these cloned men?Perhaps no one will believe. It’s incredible to imagine that one will live a happy life that has both physical problems and lower social standing.Who will be willing to educate them?Cloned men are just victims and experimental games. Technology is a double-edged sword.Used properly,it will be advantageous to the whole society.Used improperly,it will have great negative effects. On balance I hold on the stance that the scourge of human cloning is tremendous. To sum up,this technology should be restricted and the government should take effective measures to do with it.

Dear Jenny,
How is your survey on mobile payment going? I’m glad I can help with it.
It is generally believed that China is the largest mobile payment market. Nowhere else is the cashless trend more obvious than in China. Most of us are used to paying by scanning QR codes whatever we buy—books, clothes, and electronic devices, to name a few, which is a glimpse into the life of most Chinese like me and my family.
With the widespread use of mobile payment, Wechat or Alipay is the most convenient and safest way to pay. We rarely need to carry a wallet or cash at all. Besides, never will we worry about getting fake notes or having to count change. In short, mobile payment has greatly changed peoples life in China.
Personally, I think mobile payment should be encouraged. First, it has won over consumers with its convenience. Another advantage is that there are often discounts if you make mobile payment, as major online payment platforms are competing to have more consumers use their service.
I hope my explanation can be of some help to you. Wish you good luck.
Yours faithfully,
Li Hua

Different people have different ambitions. When children study at school, they already have their own ideals. Stone want to be engineers or doctors in the future. Others want to be artists or businessmen. Still others want to be teachers or lawyers. But few want to be farmers.
Unlike most people, I choose to be a farmer in the future and make contributions to development of agriculture. Agriculture is essential to the national economy and the peoples livelihood. Without it there wont be grains on which people survive. Nevertheless, farmers are ignored, even looked down upon by urban people. I determine to challenge the traditional idea and contribute to changing this situation.
However, lt is not easy to he a modern farmer in the 21st century. A modern farmer must be equipped with a variety of knowledge such as chemlstry, biology and meteorology. Therefore, I must study conscientiously from now on so that I can get the chance to study as a postgraduate in an agricultural university.
I believe only a man with scientific knowledge can meet the challenge of the 21st century and assume the task of modernizing agriculture.

Everyone has goals. Many people do not reach their goals for lack of planning. These three sets of goals should be developed: lifetime, intermediate and short term. Lifetime goals should be written out. These goals should be clear and reasonable. For instance, the goal to win a research prize is clear and measurable. Other lifetime goals might include publishing a certain number of influential books or articles, earning a departmental chairmanship at a major university, successfully competing for a grant from the National Science Foundation or securing a consultantship with a big corporation.
Intermediate goals relate to outcomes during the next few years. For the beginning doctoral student, intermediate goals may include completion of course work and preparation of a doctoral research proposal. Like lifetime goals, these are measurable and clearly stated.
Short-term goals involve outcomes expected during the next 12 months. These goals are more performance oriented, and they help with achievement of intermediate goals. Examples of short-term goals are earning an A in a course, learning how to program a computer or performing an experiment.

When you visit London, one of the first things you will see is Big Ben, the famous clock which can be heard all over the world on the B.B.C. If the Houses of Parliament had not been burned down in 1834, the great clock would never have been erected. Big Ben takes its name from Sir Benjamin Hall who was responsible for the making of the clock when the new Houses of Parliament were being built. It is not only of immense size, but is extremely accurate as well. Officials from Greenwich Observatory have the clock checked twice a day. On the B.B.C. you can hear the clock when it is actually striking because microphones are connected to the clock tower. Big Ben has rarely gone wrong. Once, however, it failed to give the correct time.
A painter who had been working on the tower hung a pot of paint on one of the hands and slowed it down!
The Most Important Day in My Life
Have you ever been at sea in a dense fog when it seemed as if a tangible white darkness shut you in, and the great ship, tense and anxious, groped her way toward the shore? I was like that ship before my education began, only I had no way of knowing how near the harbor was.
The most important day I remember in all my life is the one on which my teacher, Anne Mansfield Sullivan, came to me. I am filled with wonder when I consider the immeasurable contrast between the two lives which it connects. It was the third of March, 1887, three months before I was seven years old.
On the afternoon of that exciting day, I guessed vaguely from my mother’s signs and from the hurrying to and fro in the house that something unusual was about to happen, so I went to the door and waited on the steps.
I felt approaching footsteps. I thought it was my mother and stretched out my hand. Someone took it, and then I was caught up and held close in the arms of the person who had come to reveal all things to me, and, more important than that, to love me.
The morning after my teacher came she led me into her room and gave me a doll. When I had played with it a little while, Miss Sullivan slowly spelled into my hand the word “d-o-l-l”. I was at once interested in this finger play and tried to imitate it. When I finally succeeded in making the letters correctly I was filled with childish pleasure and pride. Running downstairs to my mother I held up my hand and made the letters for doll. I did not know that I was spelling a word or even that words existed; I simply made my fingers go in monkey-like imitation. In the days that followed I learned to spell in this uncomprehending way many words, among them, “pin”, “hat”, “cup”, and a few verbs like “sit”, “stand” and “walk”, but my teacher had been with me several weeks before I understood that everything has a name.
One day while I was playing with my new doll, Miss Sullivan gave me my old doll, too. She then spelled “d-o-l-l” and tried to make me understand that “d-o-l-l” applied to both. Earlier in the day, we had a struggle over the two words “m-u-g” is “mug” and “w-a-t-e-r” is “water” , but I persisted in mixing up the two. I became impatient and, seizing the new doll, I dashed it on the floor, breaking it into pieces. I was not sorry after my fit of temper. In the dark, still world, I had no strong sentiment for anything.
My teacher brought me my hat, and I knew we were going out into the warm sunshine. We walked down the path to the well-house. Someone was drawing water, and my teacher placed my hand under the spout. As the cool stream gushed over one hand, she spelled into the other word water, first slowly, then rapidly. I stood still; my whole attention was fixed upon the movements of her finger. Suddenly I seemed to remember something I had forgotten — a thrill of returning thought – and the mystery of language was revealed to me. I knew then that the “w-a-t-e-r” meant that wonderful cool something that was flowing over my hand. That living word awakened my soul and set it free.
I left the well-house eager to learn. Everything had a name and each name gave birth to a new thought. As we returned to the house, every object which I touched seemed to be full of life. That was because I saw everything with a strange, new sight that had come to me. On entering the door I remembered the doll I had broken. I felt my way to the fragments and tried in vain to put them together. Then my eyes were filled with tears, for I realized what I had done, and for the first time I felt sorry.
I learned a lot of new words that day. It would have been difficult to find a happier child than me when I lay in my small bed that night and thought of the joys that day had brought to me, and for the first time I longed for a new day to come.

The university opening ceremonythe deeply impressing feelings are as much a part of me now as they were a year ago.
As the day to register and become a freshman in FDU approached, excitementincreased.Beingauniversitystudent meant I was finally coming of age. Soon I would be on my own, making my own decisions and doing what I wanted without someone looking over my shoulder.
Despite months of anticipation, nothing could have prepared me for the impact of the actual day.Among thousands of new comers sitting on the broad lawn in front of the famous XiangHui Auditorium, listening to the speeches by the principal and student representatives, I felt myself consumed by a rush of both joy and nervousness. What would college be like? Would the other students like me? And what about the workwould I be able to keep up? Being a student in high school seemed to offer little assurance of my being able to survive college, especially in FDU which is abundant of excellent counterparts. Panic set in.It had been nice being respected as a senior by the underclass students for the past year;I didn't quite enjoy the idea of being on the bottom rung of the ladder again.I was not assured whether I wanted to grow up after all.
As if in a daze, I rose up with my new classmates around to show respect to the school song which was to be performed. As the solemn music flowed, I knew that I was hearing not just a song but the foot step of a brand new life. Exciting as the prospeet of a new life seemed, it wasn't quite easy saying goodbye to the old onethe familiar faces, the familiar routine. I would eyen miss those days when fully engaged in preparing for the college entrance exams though they were so tiring and the long commute between home and school that took me several hours each week. Good or bad, it was that I knew.
This September, I was one of the volunteers to welcome the new comers and guide them around the campus. I found the familiar mixed feelings shown on their faces. I needn't have worried about if I would like FDU, since my year here has turned out to be one of the best years of my life. Although going back to those days is impossible, it's comforting to know I can revisit my special memories any time.

men fear death, as children fear to go in the dark; and as that natural fear in children, is increased with tales, so is the other. certainly, the contemplation of death, as the wages of sin, and passage to another world, is holy and religious; but the fear of it, as a tribute due unto nature, is weak. yet in religious meditations, there is sometimes miture of vanity, and of superstition. you shall read, in some of the friars鈥?books of mortification, that a man should think with himself, what the pain is, if he have but his finger鈥檚 end pressed, or tortured, and thereby imagine, what the pains of death are, when the whole body is corrupted, and dissolved; when many times death passeth, with less pain than the torture of a limb; for the most vital parts, are not the quickest of sense. and by him that spake only as a philosopher, and natural man, it was well said, pompa mortis magis terret, quam mors ipsa. groans, and convulsions, and a discolored face, and friends weeping, and blacks, and obsequies, and the like, show death terrible.
it is worthy the observing, that there is no passion in the mind of man, so weak, but it mates, and masters, the fear of death; and therefore, death is no such terrible enemy, when a man hath so many attendants about him, that can win the combat of him. revenge triumphs over death; love slights it; honor aspireth to it; grief flieth to it; fear preoccupateth it; nay, we read, after otho the emperor had slain himself, pity (which is the tenderest of affections) provoked many to die, out of mere compassion to their sovereign, and as the truest sort of followers. nay, seneca adds niceness and satiety: cogita quamdiu eadem feceris; mori velle, non tantum fortis aut miser, sed etiam fastidiosus potest. a man would die, though he were neither valiant, nor miserable, only upon a weariness to do the same thing so oft, over and over. it is no less worthy, to observe, how little alteration in good spirits, the approaches of death make; for they appear to be the same men, till the last instant. augustus caesar died in a compliment; livia, conjugii nostri memor, vive et vale. tiberius in dissimulation; as tacitus saith of him, jam tiberium vires et corpus, non dissimulatio, deserebant. vespasian in a jest, sitting upon the stool; ut puto deus fio. galba with a sentence; feri, si e re sit populi romani; holding forth his neck. septimius severus in despatch; adeste si quid mihi restat agendum. and the like. certainly the stoics bestowed too much cost upon death, and by their great preparations, made it appear more fearful. better saith he qui finem vitae etremum inter munera ponat naturae.
it is as natural to die, as to be born; and to a little infant, perhaps, the one is as painful, as the other. he that dies in an earnest pursuit, is like one that is wounded in hot blood; who, for the time, scarce feels the hurt; and therefore a mind fied, and bent upon somewhat that is good, doth avert the dolors of death. but, above all, believe it, the sweetest canticle is, nunc dimittis; when a man hath obtained worthy ends, and epectations. death hath this also; that it openeth the gate to good fame, and etinguisheth envy.

there are many arguments about the advantages and disadvantages of eamination.some people think eamination is the only best way to test how eaminees have mastered what they have studied and it is the only measurement for eaminers to select which persons they need.while, on the other hand, some object that eamination cant measure how the students have really studied.they say it can do nothing but burden the students.
as for me,i think for both eaminers and eaminees, the eamination can show what and how much the eaminees have mastered.the results of eaminations are just like mirrors for both eaminers and eaminees.
through eamination the eaminees can check their work and get aware of which aspects they have not done well,so that theyll make much improvement in their work.as far as eaminees are concerned, they can not only know how they have studied but also find out what they still unknown or what they havent mastered well.thus, they will be inspired to greater efforts to improve their studying method so as to make greater progress.of course too many eaminations are burbens to both eaminers and eaminees.
in sum,the eamination does more good than harm for both eaminers and eaminees.we must take a correct attitude towards eamination.we should take full advantage of it and avoid its disadvantage.

Ownership of houses in China has changed greatly in the past decade. In the past, most houses were state-owned. But now, private houses are everywhere. As is shown in the chart above, in 1990, the citys houses were mainly state-owned, with a percentage of 75. This percentage became 60 in the year 1995 and then dropped sharply to 20 in 2000. At the same time, the number of private houses has soared up to 80 percent. There are mainly two reasons that account for this rapid change. Firstly, the government has been forwarding the policy to support private houses programs. These programs have proved to be very important in developing Chinas economy. Secondly, with the development of economy, peoples standard of living has risen. They want to have their own houses to satisfy their needs. The change has enabled more people to enjoy larger living space. At the same time, people feel pressure to make more money so that they can buy their own houses.

For most people, travel is a great thing. They will make a long plan before the trip starts. It is believed that shopping and delicious food are considered to be the necessary plans. While for some people, they don’t care about the things mentioned above. Different people have different ways to travel.
For most people who enjoy shopping and delicious food, the purpose of the trip is to buy local products and to eat local food. So they prepare a large amount of money, enjoying the feeling of shopping. In a lot of tourist cities, almost all the shops will write the commercial ads with mandarin, for attracting more Chinese customers.
For other tourists, they just enjoy the atmosphere and do nothing. They prefer to sit in the cafe shop and read the books for a whole afternoon. Once I did not understand such behavior, but now, as I have seen more and more scenery, I started to realize that it was another way to relax themselves.

By the time children enter school, they’ll have spent up to one-third of their waking hours in front of TV. The enormous influence of television is just beginning to be realized. While many parents take television as an electronic baby-sitter, they neglect the fact that television may be more harmful than it is beneficial to children.
Those who encourage small children to watch television claim that many programs for children on TV are helpful to develop children’s interest and enrich their knowledge. They also argue that preoccupied with TV programs, children are prevented from doing mischief. Although at a first glance these arguments sound true, the behavior of some children doesn’t seem to prove them.
In the first place, programs for children are not always beneficial to them. One science fiction serial keeps telling about some supernatural beings who can fly and always fight against evildoers. After watching several episodes, a small child was so enchanted that he imitated the heroes and “flew” from his room on the second floor. There are also reports of children running away from home to the mountains to practice martial art. These incidents are naturally credited with TV programs for children.
Further, being preoccupied with TV programs is not a good way for avoiding mischief. In the days before TV, parents used to gather together with their children, telling stories or reading poems to them. The communication between parents and children was thus better, so it was easier for children to understand what was good conduct.
Those who approve of children’s watching TV neglect television’s bad effects on children. Firstly, children are surrounded and bombarded by commercials for toys and foods. They are tempted into becoming consumers. They earnestly ask their parents to buy things which they do not really need. As a result, the parents are in a financial dilemma, and the children themselves always become victims of bad products because of false advertising.
Another bad effect of television is that children are over-exposed to violence. They watch hours of murders, fights, and crimes every week, with no adult around to tell them that life is not like that most of the time. The effect of the heavy dose of violence is to suggest to children that violence is an ordinary way of life, and that shooting and cheating are ways to success.
Most serious of all, children who often watch TV are becoming passive. They just sit back and let things happen to them. Children are inventive; they have the ability to imagine a whole world of their own. But what happens when their imagination is not needed, when TV does all the imagination for them? Obviously, these children are not going to grow up as inventive and imaginative as their parents, for they have been robbed of creative impulses by television.
To sum up, children’s indulgence in television is harmful. The problem, nevertheless, is not one of prohibition. Parents should supervise and guide their children’s watching TV instead of parking them in front of the tube, hoping it will act as a baby-sitter.
