Chinese New Year! Every place has different customs, and each has its own characteristics. I had the opportunity to back to my home in chongqing this year New Years day, let me introduce you to the Spring Festival customs of tujia.

New Years eve at noon, I saw my grandma cooked a lot of rice, just curious to ask: why want to cook so much rice, we also cant eat a meal? Grandmother replied: "want to cook some more, todays day cant cook fresh rice again. For tujia people seldom eat fish, so be about to cook more, it is also called more every year."

New Years eve afternoon, grandpa and father stick couplets, I also coincided with in the past. East, west to see see. When my father asked me: "do you know why do we need to stick couplets?" I answered: "know a little bit, festive bai." "Also right, couplet to express the good wish of people to pray for good fortune in the New Year. Now we stick couplets, cannot go toward outside throwing things, even cant throw rubbish, until annual lunar calendar to throw things. This means that circle the goods at home." Dad went on to say that.

On the evening of New Years eve, the home of the elder led the family to "worship the mountain ancestor worship". On the front of ancestors grave red candle and incense, placed offerings, to miss to ancestors. This also is respect for them.

These are the Spring Festival customs of tujia, I know you think its interesting.

I got up very early today - today is the first day of the year. The first thing a child can do is to wear a new dress and go to the neighbors house for a red envelope. But before you ask for a red envelope, be sure to congratulate yourself on your wealth and good health. My friends and I went to collect the red envelopes and ran for a long morning, but we didnt pay any attention to the money, and we got a lot of red envelopes.

During the Spring Festival, firecrackers should be set off to show happiness. The sound of firecrackers was heard in the early morning, and the whole village was busy. We are all familiar with the smell of firecrackers, which can smell like Chinese New Year. The grown-ups were gathering in the air to talk about their children, to talk about work, to get up, to play mah-jongg, to play CARDS, to say that the first day of the year was not a bet. In the afternoon, I went to buy a fireworks display with my friends. Even if our new clothes get dirty, we dont care, just have fun.

The evening scenery is very different from the day: although it is as lively as the day, it is mainly fireworks. "Feng!" "Feng!" The beautiful fireworks blossomed in the sky, and many people came to watch the fireworks. I played with my friends in hide-and-seek, and played with the bright moon and fireworks.

At 10 o clock in the evening, my family and I went upstairs to set off fireworks and eat zongzi and rice cakes. According to our custom, we should eat rice cakes and zongzi during the Spring Festival. I like rice dumplings best. Because theres my favorite filling -- its a mixture of peanuts, beans, meat, dried mushrooms and some spring Onions. We eat zongzi and watch the fireworks, which is really pleasing to the eye!

Im so happy for the Spring Festival! You can ask for red envelopes, firecrackers, eating zongzi and rice cakes. I wish I could go back in time!
