In everyday life, people take for granted that some people are good at things and some people are not. But I have always believed that human beings are capable of far more than they realise. It is this interest in human potential that motivates me to want to work as an Educational Psychologist.
I have always had an interest in the human mind, but never considered working in this field. However, personal experience of ADHD and autism led me to volunteer at an autistic unit in a local primary school, which I have now been at for almost two years. Whilst there, I realised that my interest in the Autistic Spectrum and ADHD was more than a passing curiosity. My experience at the school provided me with a deeper understanding of these conditions, and, combined with my interests in educational psychology and technologies such as entrainment and biofeedback, led me to consider the potential application of these to assist such children in reaching their full potential. One day I returned home with a sense of exhiliration, and realised that helping autistic children was something that I wanted to pursue as a professional psychologist.
I have also worked voluntarily as a teaching assistant at a local college. My duties included creating certificates, writing course manuals, and supervised teaching. In addition, I was comissioned by the charity DYCF to teach relaxation techniques to "difficult teens" as part of a remedial programme, and wrote a report of recommendation. This demonstrates that I am able to empathise and interact with a variety of people in a range of educational settings, as well as cope with a high workload.
I spent some time researching careers in psychology and it was quite clear that Educational Psychology was the route for me. Although I had studied Counselling Skills in --- and DD100: Introduction to the Social Sciences previously with the Open University, it was of course a case of preparing myself for Higher Education. So in 20xx I enrolled on DSE212: Exploring Psychology, with the Open University. My overall assesment score on DD100 had been 81, but of course it has been a while since my last formal academic study. Hence I was pleased to receive my first essay back from the Open University ----, scored at 83, giving much promise for my future studies.
At the same time, however, I have worked hard to overcome my difficulty with mathematics. So I enrolled on GCSE Mathematics: Foundation. I recently used accelerated learning protocols such as mnemonics and entrainment to learn my timestables in just under two weeks, and have also enrolled on a second course for extra help. Because of this, I am now confident of achieving a grade C in Mathematics, and believe that this demonstrates my committed and creative approach to learning, as well as my practical application of psychological research.
I read psychological articles and reports in New Scientist, Scientific American, and Psychology Today. I also keep up to date by researching psychology online, and have a particular interest in the research of the HeartMath and Monroe Institutes, and the application of their research and technology within education and therapy. My latest read has been Human Givens: a new approach to emotional health and clear thinking, by Joe Griffin and Ivan Tyrrell (20xx).
Having a keen analytical mind as well as a deep empathy for working with children, I look forward to continuing my study of Psychology. My ultimate aim is to apply psychological techniques to help the autistic and ADHD populations achieve their full potential, and hopefully add to and expand the current theoretical understanding of these conditions.
法國留學(xué)申請(qǐng)誤區(qū)解讀
一、轉(zhuǎn)專業(yè)很容易
大多數(shù)學(xué)生在申請(qǐng)階段，會(huì)更加注重學(xué)校，在選擇的時(shí)候，會(huì)將專業(yè)的選擇放在后面，畢竟專業(yè)不合適進(jìn)行轉(zhuǎn)換，要比學(xué)校不合適進(jìn)行轉(zhuǎn)換要簡單一些。

二、公立大學(xué)畢業(yè)很簡單
在法國的學(xué)校留學(xué)，沒有哪一所學(xué)校的畢業(yè)是簡單的，因?yàn)閷W(xué)校實(shí)行的，都是寬進(jìn)嚴(yán)出的政策，如果沒有達(dá)到畢業(yè)的要求，那么大家就只能繼續(xù)讀下去。
所以大家不要想著進(jìn)了公立的大學(xué)，就萬事大吉了，還是需要努力學(xué)習(xí)，這樣才能夠取得比較好的成績，并且順利的畢業(yè)，從而完成整個(gè)留學(xué)。
三、預(yù)科和語言班是一回事
幾乎所有申請(qǐng)法國高校的學(xué)生，都需要在正式入學(xué)前，接受一個(gè)緩沖階段的學(xué)習(xí)，有可能是語言的培訓(xùn)，也有可能是專業(yè)的熟悉，這其中就有了預(yù)科和語言班的區(qū)分。
大家要去分清楚他們之間的差異，語言班股民私立是針對(duì)語言的培訓(xùn);而預(yù)科則是專業(yè)的培訓(xùn)，其中也會(huì)有語言的教學(xué)，但是重心還是放在專業(yè)上。
四、選英語授課不需要學(xué)法語
英語授課如今在不少法國搞笑的專業(yè)中都有開設(shè)，但是即便大家選擇了英語的授課，也是不能夠忽視法語的學(xué)習(xí)的，因?yàn)槿粘Ｉ钸�是需要接觸法語的。
而且大家脫離了課堂之后，和同學(xué)、教授的交流，還是會(huì)以法語為主，更何況，多學(xué)習(xí)一門語言，對(duì)大家的優(yōu)勢是非常大的。
法國留學(xué)申請(qǐng)前后期費(fèi)用清單
一、前期申請(qǐng)
先要開始的是語言的學(xué)習(xí)，接受法語的培訓(xùn)，是需要花不少錢的，報(bào)班學(xué)習(xí)和報(bào)名考試都需要花錢，一般學(xué)生從零基礎(chǔ)開始學(xué)習(xí)，一個(gè)周期的完整學(xué)習(xí)，需要2萬元左右。
準(zhǔn)備申請(qǐng)的材料的時(shí)候，要花錢的地方主要是大家進(jìn)行公證和翻譯的學(xué)術(shù)和成績材料，一份完整的材料需要1000元左右;之后大家提交正式的留學(xué)申請(qǐng)，手續(xù)費(fèi)需要200元左右。
正式的錄取獲取了之后，還要進(jìn)行留學(xué)簽的申請(qǐng)準(zhǔn)備，其中體檢和開資金證明，需要花20xx元左右;還要向使館遞交簽證的申請(qǐng)，手續(xù)費(fèi)和申請(qǐng)費(fèi)，大概需要準(zhǔn)備好20xx元左右。
二、中期準(zhǔn)備
準(zhǔn)留學(xué)生出國前，還需要對(duì)自己的行李進(jìn)行認(rèn)真的整理，確認(rèn)自己出國之后，能夠有完善的東西安排自己的日�；A(chǔ)生活，這些東西的采購需要先列清單在準(zhǔn)備，預(yù)算在1000元左右。
還不要忘了買機(jī)票，從國內(nèi)去法國，一般都是坐飛機(jī)，在開學(xué)的時(shí)候，機(jī)票價(jià)格一般都是比較貴的，大家可以參考票價(jià)，一般單程在5000元左右，基本上就是可以下手的價(jià)格。
三、后期留學(xué)
在法國讀書的學(xué)費(fèi)，需要大家按照學(xué)校的專業(yè)要求來進(jìn)行準(zhǔn)備，目前在法國讀書的學(xué)習(xí)成本不算很高，大家可以享受的教學(xué)性價(jià)比更高，一年一般準(zhǔn)備5-12萬足夠了。
生活開銷中住宿會(huì)比較高，但是滿足要求的學(xué)生可以申請(qǐng)房補(bǔ)，折算下來一個(gè)月最多3000元;吃飯?jiān)趯W(xué)校的食堂就可以解決，對(duì)學(xué)生來說會(huì)更加方便，做飯可以偶爾進(jìn)行，一個(gè)月20xx元左右。
出行辦了卡的話會(huì)非常方便，而且還可以享受折扣，一個(gè)月最多500元就夠用了;買東西的預(yù)算則需要提前做，這樣大家才能夠有效的節(jié)省開銷，預(yù)算一個(gè)月1500元。
法國留學(xué)住房安全法則
1、謹(jǐn)慎選擇租房渠道
租房是大事，所以選擇正規(guī)的租房渠道顯得尤為重要!一般從安全系數(shù)來說，租住當(dāng)?shù)氐恼?guī)的學(xué)生公寓(無論 公私)和通過正規(guī)的房屋地產(chǎn)中介及正規(guī)的房屋租賃網(wǎng)站會(huì)比較好。通過上網(wǎng)找房就要提高些警惕，尤其是某些論壇渠道或者一些類似國內(nèi)_的網(wǎng)站，出現(xiàn)問題的概率相對(duì)會(huì)更高。朋友介紹的途徑一般還好，前提就是確定真的是朋友!不管哪種情況，如果遇到看房之前就要求提前打款的，千萬別信!
2、謹(jǐn)慎選擇住房類型
一般肯定是正規(guī)學(xué)生公寓，尤其是那些帶門禁、帶門房(即看門人或者宿管)的私營學(xué)生公寓安全系數(shù);在外租房的話，獨(dú)立住房也肯定比與人合租要安全。當(dāng)然，私營學(xué)生公寓和單獨(dú)租房的相應(yīng)費(fèi)用也會(huì)更高些。
3、妥善選擇租房地段
在任何一個(gè)城市，都有相對(duì)安全和相對(duì)不安全的區(qū)域。在法國的多數(shù)城市來說，租房需要盡可能遠(yuǎn)離黑人居住區(qū)和阿拉伯人居住區(qū)，不可圖便宜，安全第一!此外，為了避免路途中的不安全，選擇離學(xué)校比較近的地段租房，是初到法國的學(xué)生可以考慮的方式。
4、盡可能遠(yuǎn)離二房東
在租房的時(shí)候，要盡可能先確認(rèn)好房東的身份，留好聯(lián)系方式。有很多情況下，有些網(wǎng)上的租房信息看起來很誘人，但經(jīng)常會(huì)遭遇二房東，一來利益和安全沒有保障，二來申請(qǐng)房補(bǔ)的時(shí)候也可能遇到問題，所以一定要慎重!有小伙伴額外提醒：尤其不要找華人房東或二房東，特別是開餐館的中國房東，一般房子條件都比較差，為人比較計(jì)較;還有些看起來很和藹，話也說得天花亂墜，但坑起同胞來一點(diǎn)兒也不手軟……
